CAIRO- Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hani Sweilam had talks on Monday with Director-General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) Yerlan Baidaulet and Director of the organisation’s programmes and project office Ismail Abdel Hamid.
The talks tackled means of promoting co-operation to deal with the negative impact of climate change and coordinating water activities within the framework of preparations for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27).
The talks tackled scientific and research co-operation mechanisms between the two sides as well as coordination in the field of applied researches serving the water sector.
During the meeting, Sweilam reviewed the great potentials of the ministry’s regional training center, noting that the organisation can benefit from the center’s expertise in organising training sessions for Arab and African trainees.
The talks also touched on preparations for the fifth Cairo Water Week.
