Egypt’s Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hany Sewilam on Saturday affirmed keenness of the Irrigation Ministry on achieving goals of the sustainable and comprehensive development strategy adopted by the state, in line with the state’s approach to develop the national industry according to Egypt Vision 2030.
Sewilam made the remarks during a meeting with leaderships of the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources to follow up on the status of water quality in several locations along the Nile River.
The minister emphasized the importance of preserving factories that use water in their operational cycles, which is drawn from waterways.
He also highlighted the importance of monitoring quantities and quality of water drawn and produced from these factories, in order to ensure the preservation of water quality in surrounding waterways.
Meanwhile, Sewilam instructed following up on the results of analyses of final discharge samples of industrial wastewater and cooling water of these factories, in order to preserve the national industry.
