WASHINGTON – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reached a staff-level agreement on the economic policies needed to complete the third review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) agreement.
The fund said in a statement late Thursday that an IMF mission, led by Ivanna Vladkova Hollar, held in-person discussions with the Egyptian authorities from May 12 to 26 in Cairo.
After the approval of the review by the board, Egypt will be allowed to receive $820 million.
The IMF said its Executive Board will consider the staff agreement and disbursement in the coming weeks.
