Egyptian Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC) issued a report reviewing the impact of the governmental measures taken around the world to overcome the effect of the hike in the prices of energy.
The report pointed out that the recent increase in the fuel (oil, gas and coal) prices raised concerns on the abilities of the Egyptian families to decrease their consumption to adapt with the increase in prices.
The prices of all fossil fuel including oil, gas and coal, increased as of mid 2021 coinciding with recovering from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the report noted.
Meanwhile, the report also highlighted the impact of the Russia-Ukraine crisis since February and its repercussions of reducing exports of natural gas and energy to many countries.
