The Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC) recommended taking the necessary measures to activate industrial clusters specialised in the industry and production of smart appliances including cell phones, smart watches and home appliances in Egypt via formulating an Egyptian programme for long-term manufacturing of electronics, according to a research paper published on Wednesday by the IDSC as part of the series of “our youth supports our decision”.
The paper aims at formulating a programme for localising the industry of electronic chips in Egypt via activating the role of industrial clusters between (2022-2035), in light of pioneering international experiments, former studies, local and international reports, in addition to meetings with experts in this field.
The IDSC said that these cluster formation industries can be set in geographical locations that have dry climate and ideal temperature, in addition to being set up in areas close to the cities of the Suez Canal and Upper Egypt.
It also proposed being specialised in the production and manufacturing of solar energy panels, being a priority topping most wanted technological industries, due to the tendency of the world towards sustainable development.
