CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities Assem el-Gazzar followed up the progress rate of multiple under-construction projects in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

The projects include the Central Business District (CBD), the Central Gardens Project and third residential district, “the Capital Residence”.

In press statements Thursday, Gazzar said that glass facades featured on a number of towers in the CBE will soon be completed.

The CBD, which will be home to 20 towers, includes the near-complete Iconic Tower, almost 400-metre-high, which is set to be the tallest building in Africa, he added.

Talking about the Central Gardens Project, the minister elaborated that the implementation rate in this project reached about 79%.

The park will be more than 10 km long, with an area of approximately 1,000 acres, he said, noting that it includes an integrated network of pedestrian and bicycle paths, which will allow all Egyptians of all abilities to enjoy the park.

The NAC, a mega 700-square-kilometre city, located 60km from Cairo in the area between the Cairo-Suez and Cairo-Ain Sokhna roads, was launched in 2015 and is set to house 6.5 million people.
