Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Dr Hanafy Gebaly has stressed the importance of participating in the presidential election, calling that a national duty.
It is not only a democratic tradition, but a national duty in the first place, Gebaly said as he inaugurated the fourth regular session of the second legislative round Sunday.
This vote is particularly important, given the significance of the president’s position in the Egyptian political system, the House speaker noted.
He urged all Egyptians to interact with the process and cast their ballots.
MPs should act to raise awareness of the people about the importance of positively contributing to that important event, which will show Egyptians to the world as they rightly practice democracy, Gebaly said.
The House speaker greeted the Egyptian people, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Armed Forces on the golden jubilee of the October War victory.
