Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar asserted that the reproductive health plays a pivotal role in the general health and widely affects social and economic levels, thus helping in combating poverty and diseases and improving women health.
This came during a conference organized by Organon company under the rubric “for her” in presence of US Ambassador to Egypt Herro Kader Mustafa and CEO and Board member of Organon Kevin Ali.
In a statement of the Ministry of Health on Thursday, Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that the reproductive health is a decisive solution to improve the conditions of population and general health.
Abdel Ghaffar shed light on the importance of the population strategy, including the activities that the ministry started to implement and have big impact on the demographic changes and contribute to maintaining the general health.
Spokesman for the Health Minister Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that the minister highlighted the joint efforts of the ministry and the US embassy in Cairo in addition to the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
The efforts support the health strategies and joint visions of the reproductive health program, especially the “family” program that aims at presenting support, technical help and training for the employees of the ministry to improve the quality of the services presented, boost partnership between the public and the private sectors, expand reaching to the rural and deprived areas, merging the services of reproductive health with the current health services presented to take care of adolescents, youth, women and men, the spokesman said.
