Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry called on Egyptian expats to exercise their constitutional rights and participate in the presidential elections.
In press statements on Tuesday, he said people’s participation in the public life is a national duty and right under the constitution.
He said the Foreign Ministry has gained great experience in organising elections and referendums as the ministry’s missions abroad have participated in 10 constitutional events since 2011.
The ministry is also contributing to preparing for the participation of regional and international organisations, including the Arab League and African Union, which were invited by the National Elections Authority to monitor the elections.
The minister has directed diplomatic missions to facilitate the participation of Egyptians abroad in the presidential elections, which will take place on December 1, 2, and 3, 2023 in 137 ballot stations in 121 countries.
Voting will be from 9 am to 9 pm local time of each country on the set dates of the elections, he said, highlighting coordination with the National Elections Authority to ensure smooth electoral process.
