Egyptian Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptians Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi on Monday asserted willingness to support Egyptian investors living abroad and having a desire to make investments in homeland, through maintaining coordination with bodies concerned to overcome obstacles facing them.
She asserted keenness of the Emigration Ministry on providing support for all serious exporters, investors, businessmen and manufacturers.
Minister Gendi made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Egyptian community in Jeddah city, Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Egypt’s Consul General in Jeddah Ahmed Abd el Meguid.
The meeting falls within the framework of the minister’s current foreign tour a number of Arab and European countries with the aim of encouraging Egyptian expats to cast their ballots in the upcoming presidential election 2024 as well as promoting for investment in Egypt.
The minister underscored keenness on reaching out to the Egyptian community in Saudi Arabia which has the largest number of Egyptian expats; 2.9 million out of a total of 14 million Egyptians abroad.
Gendi highlighted several investment incentives offered by the Egyptian government to expats, including the golden license and tax exemptions.
The National Election Authority has announced that the election for expats will be on December 1 through 3 and the run-off, if there is any, will be on January 5 through 7.
