The Egyptian Embassy in Ottawa has hosted the first virtual forum gathering the Egyptian community in Canada.
Chairmen and board members of 14 societies from all Canadian provinces participated in the event.
It aimed to create an institutional mechanism to bring together Egyptian communities, some of which date back to more than 40 years, to ensure the provision of the best consular services for the community, and to organize joint cultural and economic events that promote Egypt on the Canadian arena, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement.
The event also reflects the Egyptian state’s keenness to communicate effectively with every Egyptian in Canada, with the aim of providing the best services to the nationals abroad, informing them of the developments that Egypt is witnessing in all fields, benefiting from their experiences, and involving them in the initiatives launched by the Egyptian government, he added.
