CAIRO – Egypt’s exports of food industries increased in 2023 by a value of dlrs 602 million dollars to record dlrs 5.1 billion, which is the highest worth in the history of Egyptian food industries exports in comparison to dlrs 4.5 billion in 2022, the Food Export Council (FEC) said in a monthly report Monday. Arab countries bought the most, importing 54 per cent or dlrs 2.7 million, of the total share, the council said, adding that the European Union was the second-largest destination, importing 17 per cent, equal to dlrs 884 million, of Egypt’s exports. Non-Arab African countries also showed strong demand, importing food products valued at dlrs 467 million, representing a growth of 9 per cent.
