Egypt has expressed sincere condolences to Bangladesh and sympathy with the families of the victims of a ferry boat that sank in the Shitalakhsya River south of the capital Dhaka Monday. The mishap occurred when th ferry with some 50 passengers collided with a cargo vessel, resulting in the death of at least 26 people and the missing of others, according to the latest news reports.
A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry yesterday said the government and people of Egypt affirm their solidarity with and stand by the government and people of Bangladesh in this painful calamity.
