Egypt’s Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet, Egypt’s governor at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), said Egypt handed over the presidency of the AIIB board of governors to Uzbekistan which will host the bank’s annual meetings next year.
This came on the fringe of the 8th annual AIIB meetings held in Egypt.
Maeet voiced appreciation of the fruitful co-operation between the bank and the Egyptian action team.
Maeet said he is looking forward to proceeding with discussions on means of promoting development partnerships in Uzbekistan next year in light of the bank’s strategy aiming at promoting continent linkage to realise sustainable development.
He added that Egypt is harnessing all its expertise and capabilities to render successful the strategy of incentivising the private sector’s investments in the infrastructure domain.
He added that multilateral co-operation contributes to confronting the current international economic challenges.
