CAIRO – Egypt has detected three infections of Omicron variant among 26 people who tested positive for the Covid-19, the Health Ministry said.
The cases were isolated at hospitals and all precautionary measures were taken for people who were in contact with them, the ministry said in a statement according to MENA.
Two of the three cases show no symptoms, while the third suffers mildly, it added.
Egypt has intensified the detection operations at Cairo International Airport and other crossing points into the country since the outbreak of the new variant.
