The government is gearing up to launch a donation campaign by Egyptian expatriates in the US to contribute to providing a decent life for the neediest groups in governorates nationwide as well as upgrading underprivileged villages.
This plan was highlighted Monday during a meeting between Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Nabila Makram and Laila Pence, President of Pence Wealth Management, a registered investment advisory firm and one of the US’s leading private wealth management firms.
Also attending the meeting were cofounder or the Pence Wealth Management Dryden Pence, Dr. Hisham Al-Askari, professor at Chapman University in the United States, Aya Omar El-Kamary, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hayat Karima Foundation and the accompanying delegation.
Makram said that the government is keen to upgrade the areas from where there is illegal immigration, explaining that from this point of view there followed cooperation with ministries and state institutions, including the Hayat Karima Foundation.
“We are also keen on combining efforts of the state with the expertise of civil society institutions as well as supporting local communities in bringing about a qualitative improvement in the lives of citizens and their communities alike,” the minister said.
Makram added: “We are proud of the success story of Leila Pence, who topped the Forbes list as one of the best wealth management advisors in the United States of America. She is a shining and honourable Egyptian model abroad.”
The minister also made it clear that this meeting aims to discuss organising and arranging the effectiveness of launching the Egyptian donation campaign in the United States in light of the presidential initiatives to curb the phenomenon of illegal immigration and to develop the villages of the Egyptian countryside.
Mrs Pence expressed her gratitude for the cooperation with the Hayat Karima Foundation, saying: “The Egyptians in the United States will spare no effort in supporting their homeland and are ready to make all possible efforts to contribute to supporting the most vulnerable regions in Egypt.”
