Egypt’s Minister of Defence and Military Production and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces General Mohamed Zaki, met Wednesday with UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza Sigrid Kaag and her accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the developments of the current situation in Gaza Strip and ways to coordinate efforts to increase the flow of humanitarian aid with sufficient quantities to residents of the strip amidst the ongoing Israeli military operations.
General Zaki asserted unwavering support to the Palestinian cause and expressed categorical rejection ofany attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands. He noted that Egypt is keen to coordinate with all regional and international parties to reach a ceasefire and alleviatethe suffering of Gaza’s inhabitants.
The UN official expressed appreciation for Egypt’srole in facilitating the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. She also expressed her hope that the present international efforts would lead to a ceasefire in the Strip.
