The Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) Wednesday announced that Egypt recorded an increase in population, reaching 105.858 million people on January 1,2024.
On January 1, 2023, the Egyptian population was 104.395 million, CAPMAS said, pointing to a rise by 1.463 million throughout the past year.
CAPMAS touched upon a decline in the number of newborns in 2023 by about 149,000 – which is 6.8 percent lower than the year before.
