Egypt’s Ambassador Bassam Rady met in Rome on Friday with Senator Lucio Malan, leader of Italy’s ruling right-wing majority bloc, to discuss aspects of bilateral relations.
Rady and Malan expressed their appreciation of stronger ties between the two countries, citing booming co-operation at all levels, i.e. political, economic, commercial, military, energy and tourism.
The Egyptian diplomat has said there is a mutual pragmatic, geographical and political awareness between the two countries towards dealing with current challenges, citing intense and fruitful cooperation on all common files, such as migration, energy, trade, investment and development.
Rady has pointed out to mutual consent regarding ongoing crises and conflict in the Middle East and repercussions affecting the entire regional security, which has extended to Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea.
For his part, Senator Malan hasstressed Italy’s aspiration to continue joint cooperation for broader horizons with a pivotal country like Egypt, which is considered abalance of power for security and stability in the region under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
