Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Abbas Helmy said on Tuesday that operation rates at Cairo International Airport hit a record high on April 13.
The high traffic coincided with “unusual” events in the region, with some neighbouring states closing their airspace amid the military conflict in the Middle East, Helmy said in a statement.
He praised “honorable” performance of all employees at Cairo airport, each in their positions, to cope with the influx of passengers, who were estimated at around 94,000 on that day.
