The Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC) issued a series of reports titled “Visions on the Road to Development” to encourage the localisation of green hydrogen industry in Egypt.
In a statement on Monday, the centre said the aim of issuing the series of such visions was to incentivize the hydrogen industry and make use of the experiences of other countries in this domain.
It added that the green hydrogen plays important role in reducing carbon emissions.
It pointed out that Egypt possesses the biggest source for renewable energy from wind and sun in the Middle East and North Africa, a matter that enables it to become the biggest clean energy producer.
In a cabinet meeting last March, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said the country is keen to offer “the largest possible” package of incentives and facilities for green hydrogen production projects.
During COP27, which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh in November, Egypt signed a series of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with several international entities.
