CAIRO – The Cabinet media centre denied news purported about a new respiratory virus in Egypt carried by those coming from abroad.
In a statement on Sunday, the centre said it contacted the Health Ministry which dismissed the news as baseless.
The ministry noted that the health situation in Egypt is stable and there is no outbreak of viruses or pandemics nationwide.
The center called on media as well as social media users to verify the authenticity of the news circulated to avoid perplexing public opinion.
