Fifteen manufacturers of household electrical appliances were represented in a mission assembled by the Engineering Export Council (EEC) at a fair in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The event, which wraps up on Friday, was organised in co-operation with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the Egyptian Embassy in Kinshasa and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), under the sponsorship of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) to explore potential business opportunities.
EEC director Maha Salem said in a press release on Wednesday that a meeting was held with DRC minister of agriculture to discuss bilateral co-operation and the import of Egyptian-made farm machinery and equipment.
The EEC announced that it plans to open new investment markets in Africa to increase Egyptian engineering product exports, the statement said, citing that DRC is a promising market.
