CAIRO – Proceedings of the Arab meeting of the permanent committee on human rights kicked off here Monday to discuss means to prevent violence against women and girls.
Addressing the three-day event, Assistant Arab League Secretary General Haifaa Abu Ghazala expressed hope that the meeting would come up with new steps to promote Arab common action and implement sustainable development goals in the best way.
Abu Ghazala reviewed during the meeting a number of issues concerning women including a draft Arab agreement proposed by some Arab parliaments on combating violence against women.
Abu Ghazala described the Arab draft agreement as a moral commitment to fight violence against women.
