Egypt’s Planning and Economic Development Minister and Chairperson of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt Hala el Saeed asserted on Wednesday that Egypt recognizes the importance of the right management of water resources to produce safe drinking water.
This came in her speech during a signing ceremony aiming at enhancing the participation of the private sector in the sea water desalination in Egypt.
The deal was signed between the Sovereign Fund of Egypt, the International Finance Corporation and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in which International Cooperation Minister Rania Mashat and CEO of the fund Ayman Soliman also attended the ceremony.
The agreement aims at pushing forward Egypt’s sea water desalination program, Saeed said, adding that this comes according to the outcome of the COP27 that was recently held in Egypt.
