Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed on Thursday a report about the enlisting of 76 Egyptian research and educational institutions in the Ranking Web of World Universities “Webometrics”, issued in July, 2022.
The figure showed an increase of four educational establishments, compared to results of the Spanish ranking in 2021, according to the report.
The ranking includes more than 31,000 universities from up to 200 countries in the world, it added.
The report mentioned that Cairo University was placed first among Egyptian universities and Alexandria University came in the second position.
The Ranking Web or Webometrics is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions offering every six months an independent, objective, free, open scientific exercise for providing reliable, multidimensional, updated and useful information about the performance of universities from all over the world
The Ranking Web is not a ranking of the websites of Universities, it is a Ranking of Universities. It uses both webometric (all missions) and bibliometric (research mission) indicators
The primary objective of the Ranking Web is to promote Open Access to the knowledge generated by the University.
