CAIRO – Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has reiterated Egypt’s keenness to upgrade joint Arab action to be up to the level of demands of and challenges facing the Arab peoples.
Addressing the 159th regular session of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers at the Arab League HQ Wednesday, Shoukry pressed for common visions to better deal with all files of concern. He cited the Ukrainian crisis, the nuclear armament and climate change.
The Palestinian cause will always be the central issue though, the top diplomat said, noting that Egypt will spare no effort to support the struggle of the Palestinian people against oppressive practices and violations of human rights and international law.
“We will keep contacting all regional and international parties to support the peace course and rights of the Palestinian people,” Shoukry told his Arab counterparts.
Shoukry also extended condolences to Turkey and Syria for the victims of the earthquakes that hit the two countries last month, stressing that Egypt will always stand by their side.
