President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Wednesday held a follow-up meeting on the construction and engineering work in a number of projects being carried out by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority across the nation in coordination with ministries and other state bodies.
The meeting was attended by Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Ehab el-Far, Head of the Authority’s Consulting Office Major General Ashraf el-Araby, and a host of senior officials from the Engineering Authority, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
Advisors of the Egypt Mosque project, Ahmed Fayez and Mohamed Talaat, and Tarek el-Khudeiri, Director of Ibdaa Factory for Marble, were also present.
The meeting reviewed the current situation of some facilities being implemented in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), including Egypt Cultural Centre, and the designs of its murals and halls, as well as the internal and external designs of Egypt Mosque, that will be one of world’s largest, Ambassador Radi said.
President Sisi directed that the designs of both projects should reflect Egypt’s Islamic history and the ancient Egyptian civilisation.
In addition, the meeting reviewed the executive situation of the diplomatic quarter and the embassies, including diplomats and staff residences, the presidency spokesman said.
The meeting also discussed the quarter’s service area, which will include an international school, parks, a world-class hotel, places of worship, and new premises for the international organisations in Egypt, to be set up in line with the world’s highest engineering specifications, and in full coordination with the UN.
The meeting also dwelt on a number of the mega national construction projects, notably roads and traffic axes, Ambassador Radi noted.
