CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah ElDin Moustafa has inspected several pavilions of companies participating in the 16th edition of the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2023), which will run until February 24.
During his visit to the pavilion of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), the minister was briefed on the specifications of the company’s various military products.
The minister also drew attention to the products manufactured by his ministry, including ammunition, weapons and other equipment.
In implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives regarding increasing localizing technology and increasing the proportions of the local component and added value in the various defense industries, the ministry was keen on taking part in IDEX 2023, said Moustafa.
For their part, representatives from KAI company said that they hope that this meeting will play a key role in opening up new aspects of cooperation between their company and the ministry’s affiliated companies.
The minister also met with representatives from Poongsan Corporation, during which they discussed ways of boosting bilateral cooperation.
The meeting also tackled the ministry’s capabilities in sphere of military industrialization.
Representatives from Poongsan Corporation also cast a spotlight on the products which are showcased at the exhibition.
IDEX is the only international defense exhibition and conference in the Middle East and North Africa region; demonstrating the latest technology across land, sea and air sectors of defense.
It is a unique platform to establish and strengthen relationships with government departments, businesses and armed forces throughout the region, and it continues to benefit an increasing number of international decision-makers from within the defense industry and military personnel.
IDEX is held under the patronage of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is organized by the Capital Events in association and with the full support of the UAE Armed Forces.
