CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed with Indian Ambassador to Egypt Ajit Gupte vistas of bilateral co-operation in the health sector.

The two sides probed how to exchange experiences to develop and improve the efficiency of health systems, topped by the transfer of technologies used in manufacturing vaccines.

During a meeting held recently, Abdel Ghaffar commended the Indian diplomat’s efforts to boost bilateral relations, which, he said, show his utmost keenness on boosting vistas of cooperation and creating investment opportunities in new health projects to ensure sustainability of health systems in Egypt.

The two countries seek to raise the efficiency of healthcare providers and the quality of medical services offered to citizens, he noted.

Spokesman for the health ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting probed ways of fostering bilateral cooperation.

The Egyptian state has greater skills and experiences to become a pioneering regional hub for manufacturing and distributing vaccines, added the spokesman.

He said the two sides discussed the file of medical tourism and the establishment of centers for medical tourism in the two countries.

He added the minister underscored the importance of maintaining horizons of cooperation in training medical teams to hone their skills.

In turn, the Indian diplomat hailed the successful approach adopted by the Egyptian government to upgrade the health sector in the country.
