The Africa Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence Challenge (Africa IoT & AI Challenge) was officially launched in Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Morocco and Tunisia, and is set to start in Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa and Ghana in the last quarter of this year, in co-operation with many regional and local partners across MENA region, including MCIT, Banque Misr, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and Benya Company.

The aim of the challenge is to prepare qualified cadres in the technical field and accelerate the process of digital transformation, a statement said, adding that the challenge is directed to the entire African continent via the Internet so that young innovators can join the challenge from all over the African countries.

Akef El-Maghraby, Vice Chairman of Banque Misr, affirmed that the bank was keen to participate as the sponsor of the financial technology track. The participation includes several activities aimed at supporting and assisting the participating teams in the field of financial technology. These activities are represented in lectures, workshops and educational videos for the development of digital economy.

Maghraby also stressed the important role the Banque Misr play in supporting digital transformation to improve banking and financial services.
