Sobhi said the new sports infrastructure that was set up following June 30 Revolution has placed Egypt in a leading position worldwide and became able to host many international competitions and championships.

The marathon is part of the first sports festival organized by the ministry under the slogan of “Accomplishment for Accomplishment” on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of June 30 Revolution.

The festival aims at shedding light on Egyptian State’s accomplishments, spreading sports culture and improving young people’s fitness.

More than 1,000 male and female youths are taking part in the festival from the governorates of Cairo, Suez and Ismailia.
