Pyramids reach Egypt’s Cup after defeating Zamalek on penalties

Pyramids FC qualified for the 2022 Egypt’s Cup final after defeating Zamalek on penalty shootouts at Cairo International Stadium.

Zamalek opened the scoring through defender Hossam Abdel-Meguid in the 5th minute as Moroccan midfielder Walid El-Karti equalised for Pyramids in the 55th minute.

The game witnessed defender Ali Gabr was shown a straight red card early in the 11th minute to get Pyramids down to 10 men.

Pyramids will now face the winner of other semi-final between Al-Ahly and Smouha.
