Spokesman for the Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ministry Mohamed el Qersh asserted the state is supporting the farmer through providing fertilisers at suitable prices.
Qersh said on Saturday that the state is paying a greater attention to the file of provision of fertilizers, whose prices are now highly up globally.
The state is also keen on delivering different kinds of fertilizers to the farmers at suitable prices, said Qersh, who is an aide to the agriculture minister.
The local price of fertiliser is approximately LE4,500 per ton, the official pointed out.
The state is as well working to ensure delivery of fertilisers to beneficiaries, he said, adding that efforts are now focused on expanding fertiliser production factories to meet all needs of planters, he said.
The state launched “Farmer’s Card” project to offer subsidized production supplies to the farmers.
Qersh said as many as 1.714 million tons of poultry fodder were cleared during the period between October 16 and until December 29.
