The serious violation of the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque poses a grave threat to international peace and security, said Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said.

Such violation also represents a flagrant provocation to the feelings of all Muslims, the minister added on his Twitter account on Tuesday night.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who had stormed Al-Aqsa compound numerous times as Knesset member, stormed Al Aqsa Mosque for the first time as minister.
