Cairo- Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed reviewed mechanisms for vaccinating citizens and medical teams and health care providers against Covid-19.

In this regard, Zayed said there are 429 vaccination centers nationwide. Factories of the Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines or VACSERA in 6th of October city will become a largest hub to produce vaccines in the Middle East and Africa region, she went on to say.

The factories will be having new production lines to locally manufacture the vaccines, with equipment worth nearly 17 million US dollars and construction costs amounting to 80 million Egyptian pounds, added Zayed during a Cabinet meeting, led by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed the latest developments regarding coronavirus and the situation of the outbreak response and control efforts nationwide, in addition to the changing numbers of infections per week.

Asked about infections, Zayed said a current decline has been marked in caseload nationwide.
