Sisi orders expanding efforts to localise machinery, heavy equipment industry

The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has issued directives for expanding efforts to localise the manufacture of machinery and heavy equipment through co-operation among various stakeholders from the public and private sectors.

This shall be made within the framework of a strategy to locally manufacture production requirements in accordance with international quality standards, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The move was made during President Sisi’s meeting on Tuesday with Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Hisham Swefy, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Ahmed el Shazly, and Director of the Armed Forces Vehicles Department Essam el Sheikh.

The meeting reviewed efforts to provide equipment and machinery for national development projects nationwide, added the spokesman.
