Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Sunday Egypt hopes COP27 climate conference, that kicked off earlier in the day in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh, would come up with tangible results that will take the world from stage of pledges to the stage of action and would build on outcome of Glasgow summit and Paris Agreement.
“With pride, honor and responsibility, I look forward to opening the activities of the 27th session of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm el Sheikh,” Sisi said on his official page on Facebook.
He added that the current session of the climate summit comes at a very sensitive time as the world is being subjected to serious dangers and unprecedented challenges that threaten our planet and our ability to live on it.
These dangers and challenges require quick action by all countries to develop a road map to protect the world from the effects of climate change, he added.
