The Suez Canal revenues increased to $703.4 million in October 2022 compared with $555.9 million the corresponding month of previous year, according to the Cabinet’s Information and Support Decision Centre on Thursday.
The international waterway continues to achieve high transit rate every day, amounting to 2,117 ships as well as achieving the highest monthly net tonnage of 126.5 million tonnes, according to an infographic released by the centre.
Head of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabei said all navigational reports referred to the economic value of the expansion of Suez Canal and its clear effect on increasing transit rates.
He noted that 68 mammoth ships transited the waterway in October.
