Egyptian Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Hany Sewilam has voiced Egypt’s keenness on boosting technical co-operation and exchanging expertise with different African nations.
During a meeting with Minister of Water Resources of Sierra Leone Philip Karimu Lansana in Cairo on Wednesday, the two ministers agreed to continue coordination to prepare proposals for co-operation between the two countries, especially in the field of water desalination.
Sewilam invited Lansana to visit the ministry’s training center to get acquainted with its training and logistical capabilities.
He also reviewed efforts exerted by Egypt to co-operate with various countries and international organisations to place the water sector at the heart of global climate action.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the fifth Cairo Water Week, which is attended by 16 ministerial delegations and 66 international organisations.
