President
Abdel Fattah El Sisi has given directives for the government to ensure that all new urban communities be provided with the entire necessary services and that the highest specifications be observed in launching such services.

The president’s directives came during his meeting Monday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem al-Gazzar, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

President Sisi called the meeting to review the executive position of housing ministry’s ongoing projects nationwide, especially including the projects being carried out in the New Administrative Capital and other new cities as well as road, public utility and housing projects, Spokesman Radi said.

The presidential directives also called for boosting reliance on locally made components of high quality and upgrading all current roads in the vicinities of housing projects so as to ensure the comprehensiveness of the developmental process and enhance the image of the new Egyptian state in such a way that fits Egypt’s stature and civilisation, Spokesman Radi said.

Regarding the construction of new cities and upgrading works for other cities, Housing Minister al-Gazzar briefed President Sisi on the progress of action to complete the New Aswan City, New Mansoura City and Galal City projects.

Minister al-Gazzar’s presentation also covered the executive status of construction works in the New Administrative Capital, especially including the residential districts, the government enclave, the finance and business areas, the Green River zone and the iconic tower which will be Africa’s highest such building.

Regarding the New Alamein City, the housing minister reviewed in his presentation the progress of works to construct the city’s towers, the heritage zone, the Latin Quarter, the entertainment area and city’s international university of science and technology.

The meeting also featured a review of the projects now under way to develop the Old Cairo districts with a view to reviving the old city’s splendour and evolving it into a zone of tourist attraction and cultural and recreational activities.
