Egypt’s Egyptian Local Development Minister Hisham Amna discussed with a delegation from the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) a host of issues topped by Egypt’s preparations for hosting the UN Climate Change Conference COP27, which will be held in Sharm El Sheikh on November 6.
The delegation grouped the UCLGA’s Chief Fatima Abdel Malek along with the UCLGA’s Secretary General Jean-Pierre Mbassi.
During the meeting, attended by a host of the ministry’s leaderships and the UCLGA, Mbassi said he is confident that Egypt, on behalf of Africa, will organise a successful conference.
The African delegation, meanwhile, said that they are looking forward to holding forum on the sidelines of COP27 to draw attention to the important role played by the municipalities and cities in confronting climate change.
