EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering successfully passed the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspection, which was conducted by a team of FAA inspectors.

The inspectors made inspection tours of the company’s various sites in Cairo, as well as the maintenance station at Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, where it was approved as the first domestic station by the US Federal Aviation.

Amr Aboul-Enein, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir, sent a letter of thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the employees of EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering for maintaining a technical level worthy of the confidence of local and international bodies and clients.

He also stressed the leadership enjoyed by EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering among its peers and its role Pivotal in the system of companies affiliated with EgyptAir and its contribution to the regular operation of flights and gaining the confidence of customers.

For his part, Engineer Yahya Zakaria, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering, expressed his happiness at renewing the American accreditation for the twelfth year in a row without any comments during the inspection.

Zakaria added that the technical accreditations from the local and international aviation authorities represent the pillar of the company’s work and one of its strengths.

He indicated that the inspection team conducted its inspection tours of quality systems, aircraft maintenance hangars, overhaul workshops, aircraft parts, daily maintenance and stores of tools and materials, in order to follow up the performance of workers in implementing all procedures and their understanding of the legislation regulating the maintenance and overhauling of aircraft and the extent of their commitment to them.

He added that the inspection also included Sharm el-Sheikh station for approval as the first internal station approved by the US Federal Aviation Authority as part of the company’s ambitious plan to expand the accreditation of daily maintenance stations at internal and external airports, similar to the approval of the European Aviation Safety Agency.

For their part, the US Federal Aviation Inspectors confirmed the efficiency of EgyptAir employees for maintenance and technical works, and explained that the company’s success in renewing the accreditation for twelve consecutive years and adding the Sharm El-Sheikh station to the scope of accreditation makes the US Federal Aviation Administration keen in the first place to preserve the company’s gains and developing work systems.
