VIENNA – Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese led a mass of the European Union Youth Conference, which was held at the premises of St. Anthony Monastery of Obersiebenbrunn near the Austrian capital, Vienna.

The mass was attended by Anba Athanasius, Anba Rhaphail, Bishop-General of Downtown Cairo Churches and Anba Biemen, Bishop of Coptic Orthodox church in Qus city in Qena governorate.

Sources at the Church told MENA correspondent that the conference focuses on linking the diaspora youth to the ancestral homeland and their church and discusses the spiritual and social challenges that youths face during the current era.

The conference discusses ways to abide by morals and religious values in the Western societies, according to the sources.

Last Thursday, the pope started his two-week visit to Austria, during which he witnessed the inauguration of churches and delivered his weekly sermon at a newly-inaugurated church in Vienna.
