JEDDAH – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi highlighted the Egyptian policy’s constants for supporting Iraq and enhancing its Arab national role.
President Sisi also affirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue supporting the Iraqi people at all levels and helping them to overcome all the existing challenges, especially in their war against terrorism.
He further stressed Egypt’s support to Iraq within the framework of their trilateral cooperation mechanism with Jordan or through establishing a strategic partnership between the two countries.
President Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting Saturday in Jeddah with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al Kadhimi.
During the meeting, President Sisi underlined the need of accelerating the implementation of the ongoing projects between Egypt and Iraq.
The Iraqi prime minister, on his part, affirmed appreciation of Egypt’s efforts to support Iraq in all domains, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.
The spokesman cited the Iraqi prime minister as saying during the meeting that Iraq is looking forward to furthering cooperation with Egypt in the various spheres.
He expressed keenness to benefit from the Egyptian experience in establishing developmental projects, especially in infrastructure and electricity, added the spokesman.
