CAIRO  – Egypt’s  Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet reviewed the position of implementation rates of the digital transformation systems at his ministry.

This came during a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday under Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the executive position of the e-receipt-B2C system, saying that this system complements the ongoing rollout of its wider e-invoicing programme.

The trial operation of this system was launched on April 15, he said, adding that 153 companies have registered on the system since July 1.

The number of e-invoices currently stands at 479,000, noted the minister.

Deputy Minister of Finance for Public Treasury Ihab Abu Aish, for his part, said that the core tax system aims to combat all forms of tax evasion and raise the overall efficiency of tax collection.

He also reviewed the executive position of the first phase of the core tax system, noting that this system will be fully operational during this month.
