CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said June 30, 2013, is “the most glorious day in our great nation” and will be remembered throughout every generation.
Addressing the nation on the ninth anniversary of June 30 revolution on Thursday, Sisi said the revolution is a “watershed” in the history of beloved homeland as Egyptians chose their future.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the June 30 revolution represents a watershed moment in Egypt’s history when the Egyptian people chose the future of their children and grandchildren, they chose a modern country with the tolerant Egyptian national identity that is open to the whole world.
He referred to efforts to confront black terrorism.
He said “We faced unprecedented economic challenge,” but “We did not only confront these challenges, we also proceeded with building the state and achieving development and progress.”
He added that without the economic reform programme launched in 2016 and the development efforts over the past years, it would have been very difficult to confront the repercussions of the current international conditions.
He referred to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis on more developed economies.
He said Egypt is on the right track for more prosperity and progress.
He saluted the martyrs who sacrificed their souls for the nation.
