The cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC) said on Wednesday the value of Egypt’s exports to international blocs, of which the country is a member, hit $35 billion in 2021 with a 22 per cent increase, compared to the volume of imports which reached $38 billion.
In an infographic published by the centre to highlight new data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics, the visual representation shed light on the tangible rise in Egyptian exports to a number of international blocs, whether Egypt is a member of it or not.
Egypt’s exports to the Arab free trade zone ranked first, hitting $11 billion in 2021, with a 6 per cent rise, followed by ESCWA reaching $8 billion with a 3.5 per cent increase and COMESA that was placed in the last position, with total exports of $3 billion to mark a 31 per cent increase, according to the infographic data.
It added the Egyptian exports to international alliances, of which Egypt is not a member, reached $20 billion in 2021, with a 77 per cent rise against 38 billion dollars, which is the value of the imports.
