Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli addressed the closing ceremony of the 3rd edition of Nasser Internship for International Leadership.

The Nasser fellowship, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and under the auspicious of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, wrapped up its activities on Wednesday.

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy and a host of officials and ambassadors also attended the ceremony.

PM Madbouli conveyed President Sisi’s greetings to all participants wishing them more success.

“The government is keen on organizing youth forums and fellowships, especially Nasser fellowship, in order to hone the young people’s skills and empower them at all levels.” The prime minister said.

Madbouly added that the fellowship is also one of the mechanisms for implementing “Egypt Vision 2030”, activating the South-South partnership and the African Union road map on investing in young people as well as the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement.

He pointed out that the economic relations between the countries of the South have witnessed a leap. Indeed, the trade volume between these countries has been tripled since the 80s’.

It’s worth mentioning that economic deals between these countries represent about 60 per cent of the total international trade volume of these countries.

Madbouli added that the volume of Arab investments and emerging economies in the South states has exceeded 20 per cent of the global investments.

However, much more cooperation is still needed for wider development and more integration into the global economy.

For his part, Minister Sobhy lauded the high spirits among participants and the warm environment existed during the fellowship activities.

“The edition of the fellowship is different from the previous two versions. We widen the scope of selecting participants to include the Latin American youth,” the minister said.

The minister said that Egypt is looking forward to hearing about the contributions of the participants in their communities and countries.
