CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El Anani on Sunday inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion at the 28th edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which runs from May 16-19 in Dubai.

While inspecting the pavilion, the tourism minister said that Egypt’s participation in the show presents a good opportunity for exchanging experience and strengthening interaction among all those involved in the field of tourism and travel, with a view to fostering inter-Arab tourism.

He added that the ATMS provides an ideal platform for attracting Arab visitors to Egypt, noting that the proportion of Arab tourists before the emergence of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was 20%.

Anani pointed out to strict coronavirus precautionary measures and health safety standards applied to all tourist facilities, hotels, museums and archaeological sites in Egypt.

Some 14 exhibitors take part in the 305 square-meter pavilion, which screens promotional films on various tourist destinations in the country, as well as the most important archaeological discoveries and museums that have been opened recently, such as the museums of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.

This year’s event comprises 1,300 exhibitors from 62 countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Germany, Cyprus, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, the Maldives, the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico and the US.
